Criminal Appeals Clinic Files Amicus Curiae Brief

This summer, the Mississippi Supreme Court invited the Criminal Appeals Clinic to file an amicus curiae brief in the case of Hye v. State.   With research assistance provided by the Grisham Law Library, the Clinic, directed by Professor Phil Broadhead, analyzed the question of whether Mississippi should abandon the rule of criminal procedure that allows “lesser non-included offense” jury instructions at trial.  Link to brief: (type in “Hye” in the search box, then click on “Terry Hye, Jr. v.
