Brenda Tanner Redfern

Brenda concentrates her practice in the areas of litigation involving large, complex construction cases, contract disputes, surety law and employment law. Her practice includes trials, arbitration, mediation and administrative hearings with regulatory agencies. In November 2011, Brenda was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court as a Commissioner for the Mississippi Ethics Commission. Brenda has extensive experience in business and as a manager in both the public and private sector. She handles general corporate matters, including the negotiation and drafting of multi-million dollar contracts, and advice from a legal, financial and practical, hands-on perspective. Over a thirty-year period, including four years as a full-time Assistant Professor of Business, Brenda has taught at Belhaven University, teaching various courses in Accounting, Business Law, Ethics and Public Administration at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is also an instructor for the State of Mississippi’s certified public manager program. She is invited annually to speak to the Mississippi Bar’s “Top 25 Young Lawyers” and is a frequent speaker for other local and statewide organizations.
